Summer’s Simple Pleasures
Welcome to summer in Northern Michigan! This time, instead of writing about it, sometimes it’s fun to just allow the pictures to do the ‘talking’…
|A really cute new-born faun we discovered near our cottage
on Burt Lake recently. We were so tempted to cuddle her…but
resisted…knowing her mother may be near — and she was.
|The bike trail from Indian River to
Topinabee, MI (the old rails-to-trails
stretch that used to be the Tuscola and
Saginaw Bay Railway).
|Standing in front of Haan’s 1830 Inn on
Mackinac Island during Lilac Festival this year.
|Haan’s 1830 Inn on Mackinac Island; we honey-mooned here
22-years ago last month…and return to the island every chance we get.
|The sun had just cleared the horizon on Burt Lake over a fishing
boat that was awaiting its owner.
|The grass was wet with a heavy dew amid the long shadows of
the morning sunrise.
|A fox lounging on the hill behind our home last summer.|
|An early, foggy morning at Duncan Bay in Cheboygan. Many of
the boaters weren’t even up yet, though the aroma of fresh brewed
coffee wafting from the boats wouldn’t be far away.
|This is my favorite fishing lure, having
landed many a catch in any one of
several of our Northern Michigan lakes.
